Our Name

One of the most frequent questions we get is "How did you come up with your name?" Not surprisingly, this was one of the most difficult aspects of starting our business – developing a name with meaning and depth that represented our organization well. After much brainstorming and soul searching, we turned to one of our favorite childhood books, "The Neverending Story", for inspiration.

In this story, there is a character named Falkor who is also referred to as a "luck dragon". During the course of the story, Falkor encounters many hardships. However, throughout these difficult times, Falkor’s ability to overcome hardship was not based simply on pure chance and good fortune, as the "luck dragon" description would lead many to believe, but rather his success was based on opportunities that presented themselves only after much optimism, hard work and perseverance. Correspondingly, we felt this theme of "adversity yielding opportunities for the positive, persistent, committed and hardworking" represented our own situation, guiding principles and work ethic well.

The symbolism rich, medieval times story also served as another point of inspiration for us. The red emblem used in our logo is a conceptual representation of one of the tale’s integral elements – a powerful amulet worn at various times by different characters, including Falkor.

Overall, we felt that the name Falkor and its metaphorical themes and significance best described the type of company and people we strive to be, thus making us better partners for our clients.
