Senior Network Engineer

Falkor Group LLC, an IT Solutions Consulting Co. That provides best in class IT Solutions to Chicago and surrounding suburbs SMB market. We find highly experienced and professional IT consultants to join our Infrastructure team.

Our Senior Network Engineers have Cisco and windows support experience.  This requires the individual to perform efficient work in a fast paced and fluid environment at our clients.

 

The following skills are typical of Senior Network Engineers on staff:

  • VOIP
  • Citrix
  • HP Hardware
  • MX logic esafe
  • Blackberry server
  • exchange 2003
  • MCSE
  • Active Directory (AD)
  • Experience setting up and configuring Outlook Mobile Access.
  • Remote access support for users or multiple site utilizing Microsoft VPN and/or Microsoft Terminal Service (Remote Desktop Protocol).
  • Firewall, and typical network security.
  • Server (Enterprise, Corporate, etc) level anti-virus solutions.
  • Knowledge of or ability to specify a company wide SPAM solution.
  • General help desk and system support and escalation procedures. (SLA's, SOP's, WO's, SO's, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or ability calculate ROI and TCO. This should be on the fly as to point the engineer's ability to make informed and cost effective decisions while in the field.
  • Ability to document networks (including network diagramming).
  • Experience supporting small to medium sized businesses.
  • Ability to identify, order, and repair/replace computer hardware (server or workstation).
  • Ability to create "holistic" client solutions.
  • Ability to "plain speak" about technology issues and solutions to a client.


The Senior Network should have as many of these as possible for final consideration:

  • Experience in Exchange recovery procedures.
  • Experience trouble shooting Microsoft SQL server.
  • CRM installation and maintenance.
  • Symantec (Enterprise or Corporate) Anti-virus installation and maintenance.
  • Programming and maintenance of Cisco PIX firewall.
  • Ability to create and implement a disaster recovery plan for a small or medium sized business.
  • Experience supporting small to medium sized businesses in one (if not all) of the following markets:
    • Healthcare
    • Non-for-profit
    • Architecture
    • Construction
    • Graphic Design
    • or Marketing.
  • Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES)
  • Microsoft Virtual Server experience.
  • Citrix certification.
  • VMWare experience.
  • Hands-on Linux support.
